In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to recognize and support the country’s public servants, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced that qualified government employees, including military and uniformed personnel, will begin receiving their Mid-Year Bonus starting today, Friday, May 15, 2026.
A total of P73.456 billion has been allocated for the FY 2026 Mid-Year Bonus, benefiting more than 1.9 million civilian, military, and uniformed personnel across national government agencies.
DBM Secretary Rolando U. Toledo emphasized that the timely release of the Mid-Year Bonus reflects the administration’s recognition of the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication of government workers nationwide.
Secretary Toledo also noted that funds for the Mid-Year Bonus had already been comprehensively released at the start of the fiscal year to ensure the timely provision of benefits.
Under DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2, the Mid-Year Bonus is equivalent to one month basic pay as of May 15 and shall be granted to personnel who meet the following conditions:
• have rendered at least an aggregate of four (4) months of service from July 1 of the immediately preceding year to May 15 of the current year;
• remain in government service as of May 15 of the current year; and
• have obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating in the immediately preceding rating period or applicable performance appraisal period.
The required service period includes actual services rendered while occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions in the national and local government, including leaves of absence with pay.
The grant of the Mid-Year Bonus also extends to local government units (LGUs). However, the release of the bonus to qualified personnel in provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays shall be subject to the approval of their respective sanggunian and the conditions provided under DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2.
