THE country on Saturday reported the lowest COVID-19 cases this year at 1,923 infections, bringing the total number of cases to 3,650,748, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
Of the total number of cases, 1.7 percent or 62,533 are still tagged as “active cases,” but 92.7 percent of them have mild or no symptoms.
Of the total number of cases, most or 1,828 (95 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days (February 6 – February 19, 2022).
The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Metro Manila (371 or 20 percent), Region 4-A (197 or 11 percent) and Region 3 (188 or 10 percent).
The total number of recoveries is now at 3,532,608 or 96.8 percent of the total caseload after 5,158 new survivors were reported.
There are also 55,607 deaths or 1.52 percent of infections after 198 new mortalities were reported.
