PRESIDENTIAL candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno suffered from costochondritis while campaigning in Sorsogon, said his running mate Dr. Willie Ong Monday.
In a Facebook post, Ong said Moreno approached him due to chest pain.
Sabi niya ay buong umaga na, more than 1 hour na,” the Aksyon Demokratiko vice presidential bet said.
According to Ong, the pain stemmed from fatigue.
Hindi yan sakit sa puso,” he said.
According to a statement, Ong’s wife, Dr. Liza Ramoso-Ong, also monitored and assisted during Moreno’s checkup.
Citing the Mayo Clinic, the team of Moreno said costochondritis is “an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone” while the pain it causes may mimic a heart attack or other heart conditions.
Ong, an internist and cardiologist with over 16 million followers on Facebook, assured that Moreno is in healthy condition.
Moreno, Ong and senatorial bets Samira Gutoc, Jopet Sison, Carl Balita, and John Castriciones will visit Sorsogon and Albay on Monday for campaign activities.
In an ambush interview following his town hall meeting in Sorsogon, Moreno said his condition is “nothing serious.”
