House spox: Giving ayuda to the poor better than stealing people’s money

admin June 13, 2025

House Spokesperson Atty. Princess T. Abante.

THE House of Representatives stands firm behind Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, who has come under personal attack simply for helping the poor.

Abante clarified that the assistance extended to indigent Filipinos is aboveboard, with clear processes, documentation, and direct beneficiaries. “May resibo, may proseso, may diretsong patutunguhan.

In contrast, the spokesperson noted that the real issue lies in the abuse of public funds through questionable confidential and intelligence expenses and undeclared bank accounts with unexplained millions.

The spokesperson also emphasized that Speaker Romualdez has no announced plans for 2028, nor does he seek media mileage or viral popularity.

“Hindi siya nagpapabango sa media. Hindi siya nagpi-presscon para sa sariling interes. Hindi siya gumagamit ng TikTok para magpa-cute. Ang inuuna niya ay serbisyo, hindi ambisyon,” she said.

Abante also questioned the political motive behind the attacks.

To the critics, the House had this final message:

Tahimik man kami — hindi kami bulag.
