THE House Committee on Justice has formally invited Vice President Sara Z. Duterte to personally attend its March 25 meeting, where lawmakers are set to take up the ground rules and initial proceedings on the impeachment complaints filed against her.
In a letter dated March 19, 2026, panel Chair Atty. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro of Batangas said the panel will hold its regular meeting at 10 a.m. at the People’s Center Building in the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
In this regard, we respectfully invite you to personally attend the meeting in your capacity as the respondent in the impeachment complaints filed by Reverend Father Joel Saballa, et al. al. and Atty. Nathaniel G. Cabrera,” Luistro wrote.
“The Committee on Justice will conduct its regular meeting on 25 March 2026 (Wednesday), at 10:00 a.m., at the 2nd Floor, Peoples’ Center Building, House of Representatives, Quezon City,” her letter read.
Among the agenda items are the “Discussion on Impeachment Hearing Ground Rules” and the “Initial Hearing on the Impeachment Complaints” filed by two sets of complainants: Reverend Father Joel Saballa and others, endorsed by Rep. Leila de Lima; and lawyer Nathaniel Cabrera, endorsed by Reps. Bienvenido Abante Jr. and Paolo Ortega V.
The committee also listed “Other Matters,” including action on pending motions or requests for subpoenas, the schedule of next hearings, and the determination of resource persons and witnesses to be invited for the first full hearing set for April 14, 2026.
The House panel said Duterte may coordinate with the committee secretariat for confirmation of attendance and other concerns through its official contact channels.
“Thank you and we look forward to your participation in the meeting,” the letter added.
The March 25 meeting is expected to lay down the procedural framework for the impeachment proceedings and formally open discussions on the complaints filed against the vice president.
