THE House of Representatives on Monday implemented a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for its personnel and cancelled its scheduled plenary session due to heavy rainfall and flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon.
House Secretary General Atty. Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil issued the advisory Monday morning as inclement weather and flooding continued to affect Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
“In view of the heavy rainfall and flooding brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement shall be implemented in the House of Representatives today, 10 August 2026,” said the Secretary General.
She also announced that the plenary session scheduled for Monday would not push through.
“The Plenary Session scheduled for today is likewise cancelled and shall resume tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 August 2026.”
The WFH arrangement is intended to ensure the safety of House personnel amid flooding and hazardous travel conditions caused by the continued rains.
