Go asks public to avoid complacency, pandemic a shared responsibility

admin November 8, 2021

WITH eased pandemic-related restrictions now being imposed in Metro Manila and other identified urban centers under lower alert levels, administration Senator Christopher ‘Bong’ Go is reminding the public not to let their guard down and become complacent in the face of the ongoing health crisis because the fight against Covid-19 is not yet over even as the government gradually has allowed increased economic activities and more mobility for individuals, including young adults and minors and the elderly as well.

In a public appeal yesterday, the Senate’s health committee chairperson underscored everyone’s shared responsibility to keep each other safe and abide by the health and safety protocols.

The neophyte lawmaker highlighted the importance of properly addressing first the spread of the virus in helping the government navigate and balance the management of the pandemic while reopening businesses to reinvigorate the economy and assuage the hardships of millions of Filipinos who have either lost employment or found their livelihood go bankrupt.

Under Alert Level 2, local businesses can now operate at 50 percent indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and 70 percent outdoor venue capacity for those who are unvaccinated provided that the establishment’s workers have received their complete vaccine doses.

In ending, Go expressed confidence that through compassionate service, shared responsibility and cooperation, Filipinos will see brighter days ahead.
