SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian bared that the baptismal certificates of the alleged siblings of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo were fake.
During the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Monday, Gatchalian said they discovered that Seimen Leal Guo and Wesley Leal Guo had baptismal certificates, supposedly issued by a parish in Caloocan.
The documents indicated that they were issued by the “Parokya ng San Roque.”
It noted that both Seimen Guo and Wesley Guo were born in Caloocan City and that their father was “Angelito Guo” and their mother was “Amelia Leal.”
“We requested for some documents and we found out na itong dalawang taong ito, si Seimen Leal Guo and si Wesley Leal Guo meron silang baptismal certificate coming from a church in Caloocan,” Gatchalian said.
However, in a letter to Gatchalian dated June 6, the San Roque Cathedral Parish denied issuing such baptismal certificates.
“In reference to your request for a copy of the baptismal certificates… please be informed that we did not find any baptismal records of the said individuals,” Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Leo Pepito said.
Due to this, Gatchalian said the baptismal certificates were “spurious.”
“In other words, itong baptismal certificate na binigay sa Caloocan is spurious, fake. Finake nila ‘yun,” he said.
He said this was issued by a certain Antonio Alcalde.
According to Lucena Flores of the Caloocan City Civil Registry Office, Alcalde passed away already.
“Unfortunately, namatay na po siya (he has passed away),” Flores said when asked if Alcalde was still with the Civil Registry Office.
