PRESIDENT Rodrigo Roa Duterte presides over a command conference with local government officials and military officers at the General Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on December 23, 2021 to assess the situation in the Province after the devastation caused by Typhoon ‘Odette’ (international name: Rai).
The President pledges a P10 billion fund for the relief operations and rehabilitation efforts of all provinces affected by the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year.
Likewise, he issues a directive to the concerned government, military and police officials to utilize all assets of the government in bringing recovery efforts and undertaking rehabilitation works.
These include the Philippine Navy (PN) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) delivering basic necessities and much-needed supplies for distribution to typhoon victims, specifically to the residents of islands that have been cut off from the mainland.
Police and military will be deployed to the areas of relief aid distribution to impose peace and order.
This is the second visit of President Duterte to Cebu since the onslaught of the typhoon last week.
