THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced the filing of charges against Gong Wen Li, alias Kelly, in connection with the abduction and murder of businessman Anson Que and his driver, Armanie Pabillo.
Following a preliminary investigation by the National Prosecution Service, the DOJ has directed the filing of two counts of kidnapping for ransom with homicide against Kelly. This decision comes after a thorough review of evidence presented in the case.
Meanwhile, Alvin Que, son of the slain businessman, has been cleared of any involvement due to insufficient evidence linking him to the crimes.
The DOJ resolution also recommends referring other respondents, Yuan Haohua, Yuan Fanquiang, and Lee Hsiao Ting, to the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group for further investigation into potential violations of the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act.
This development follows the earlier filing of charges against another suspected mastermind, David Tan Liao, and two other individuals, who were arrested and charged with kidnapping for ransom with homicide in connection with the same case.
The DOJ’s actions demonstrate a commitment to pursuing justice for the victims and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
