DOH: Price freeze on 148 essential medicines in calamity-hit areas

admin July 24, 2025

THE Department of Health (DOH) has implemented a price freeze on 148 essential medicines in areas officially declared under a state of calamity.

This measure aims to ensure accessibility and affordability of vital medications for those affected by recent calamities. The price freeze is effective for 60 days and covers a wide range of medicines, including analgesics, antihypertensives, antimicrobials, and others.

A complete list of the 148 medicines is available online at https://bit.ly/PriceFreezeDOH or via a scannable QR code (not provided here, as I cannot process image data).

Consumers can report any instances of overpricing to the DOH Hotline at (02) 8651-7800 or the DTI Hotline at 1-384.

The DOH emphasizes the importance of ensuring that essential medicines remain accessible and affordable to those who need them most during times of crisis. The price freeze is a crucial step in providing immediate relief and support to communities struggling with the aftermath of calamities.

The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its citizens, particularly during emergencies.
