TOP flood control contractors Sarah and Curlee Discaya appeared before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Tuesday, October 7, marking their latest engagement with the commission’s ongoing investigation into infrastructure projects.
This appearance comes as the ICI releases its first photos from the hearings, which have previously been held privately.
The ICI’s decision to release photos follows calls from transparency advocates urging the commission to livestream the proceedings, aiming to increase public access and oversight of the investigation. The commission has yet to announce whether it will adopt livestreaming for future hearings.
The Discayas are scheduled to appear again before the ICI on Thursday, October 15, for the purpose of collating additional documents related to the investigation. Their continued involvement underscores the commission’s focus on examining the role of major contractors in flood control projects and ensuring accountability.
