Deputy Speaker Rep. Duke Frasco
DEPUTY Speaker Duke Frasco has announced he will not sign a manifesto supporting the continued speakership of Martin Romualdez in the 20th Congress.
Frasco stated that he was approached to sign the manifesto on May 14th, shortly after the 2025 local elections.
In his statement, Frasco cited widespread disappointment among his colleagues in Congress, local leaders, and constituents regarding a perceived lack of unity within the government.
He emphasized the President’s calls for unity, stability, and effective governance, asserting that the House of Representatives should reflect these values in its leadership.
Frasco stated his belief that the House should prioritize serving the Filipino people over individual political interests.
Frasco clarified that his decision is not intended to create further division but rather to encourage a more unified and effective leadership within the House of Representatives, one that fosters collaboration and progress.
