THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Ombudsman are scrutinizing the connections between contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya and CLTG Builders, the company owned by the father of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, according to Secretary Vince Dizon.
This announcement follows Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s statement that the Discaya couple may be shielding Go and their joint venture with CLTG when they decided to stop cooperating with the probe into flood control anomalies. Dizon said he and Remulla have discussed the investigation and are now reviewing documents concerning infrastructure projects from the previous administration.
“We are looking at connections between the Discayas and CLTG Corporation,” Dizon told reporters, adding that they have a plan to specifically examine the Discayas’ contracts during the previous administration.
Despite having worked with Go in Malacañang during the Duterte administration, Dizon insisted that this was “immaterial” to the probe and that any allegation of corruption needs to be investigated thoroughly, regardless of who is involved. The investigation is also looking into possible conflicts of interest involving members of the House of Representatives who may have served as contractors in their legislative districts.
