SENATOR Win Gatchalian has called on Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Guo, to cooperate with authorities and reveal crucial information about the activities and key players of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), now termed as Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs), involved in nefarious activities.
“I urge Alice Guo to come forward and cooperate with authorities and expose the main players of illegal and criminal offshore gaming operations,” Gatchalian said.
“To reduce her culpability, she can reveal everything she knows about the operations of both the Bamban POGO and the Porac POGO, as the two are interconnected. Ngayon at maliwanag na ang tunay niyang pagkakakilanlan, patong-patong na kaso ang maaaring isampa laban sa kanya dahil sa kanyang pagsisinungaling at panlilinlang, kaya mas mainam na magsalita na siya,” Gatchalian stressed.
Guo, along with others, has been charged with non-bailable qualified human trafficking by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC). The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) is looking at filing a quo warranto case against her after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that Alice Guo has the same fingerprints as Chinese national Guo Hua Ping. Additionally, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is mulling filing an election offense against her.
Given her links to the Bamban POGO hub and the Porac POGO hub, Gatchalian believes Guo is in a position to shed light on the key individuals and operations fueling criminal activities. Her testimony is expected to significantly aid law enforcement and regulatory bodies in their efforts to dismantle these illegal operations and bring those responsible to justice.
“Guo can play a crucial role in exposing the truth and ensuring that those involved are held accountable,” said Gatchalian.
The POGO industry has been under intense scrutiny due to its association with various illegal and criminal activities, including money laundering, human and sex trafficking, tax evasion, and online scamming.
