REPRESENTATIVE Elizaldy Co of the Ako Bicol Party-List on Friday expressed his deep appreciation for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s comprehensive support and transformative initiatives that have significantly benefited local agriculture, fisheries, and community development in the Bicol region.
Co conveyed his message of thanks during the President’s visit to Bicol to distribute assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and their families.
“Today, we’re not just graced by your presence, Mr. President, but also by the profound impact of your Legacy Projects,” Co said in his speech.
The Bicolano lawmaker emphasized the critical role these projects play in bolstering food security, healthcare, and housing — the key areas that Marcos has vowed to enhance.
Focusing on the Legacy on Food Security, Co highlighted the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Families, which provided P10,000 to every beneficiary from Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes.
This substantial financial aid was accompanied by the distribution of essential agricultural inputs including farm equipment, machinery, fertilizer, seedlings, piglets, feeds, and animal vaccines, alongside boats provided by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
On healthcare, Co emphasized the ongoing construction of the Legacy Building at the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center, a vital component of the Legacy on Specialty Hospitals initiative.
This project is set to significantly enhance medical services throughout the region and nearby provinces.
“Ang proyektong ito’y katuparan ng aming pangakong mapabuti ang kalusugan ng bawat Bicolano (This project is a realization of our promise to improve the health of every Bicolano),” Co said.
Meanwhile, Co noted that the Legacy on Housing project, aimed at providing safe and decent living conditions for Filipino families, is truly a reflection of the administration’s commitment to community welfare.
Co also commended the efforts to upgrade the region’s power infrastructure, among them the rehabilitation of electric cables and the construction of new sub-stations.
These improvements are seen to stabilize the region’s power supply and reduce the frequency of brownouts.
“Sa bawat sulok ng Bicol Region, ramdam po namin ang pagbuhos ng biyaya mula sa inyong administrasyon. Ang mga proyekto at programang ito’y nagpapataas ng kalidad ng buhay at nagbibigay din ng bagong pag-asa’t inspirasyon sa aming mga Bicolano (In every corner of the Bicol region, we feel the tremendous blessings from your administration. These projects and programs uplift our quality of life and provides hope and inspiration to us Bicolanos),” Co said.
The chair of the House appropriations committee further said the Chief Executive’s dedication to improve the lives of Filipinos is unparalleled.
“Makakaasa po kayo sa matibay at tuluy-tuloy na suporta ng House of Representatives sa inyong mga adhikain para sa bansa (Rest assured of the House of Representatives’ strong and continued support to all your aspirations for our country,” Co said.
