Chinese militia vessels malapit sa Pag-asa Island deadma sa warning ng PCG

PATULOY na binabalewala ng Chinese militia vessels malapit sa Pag-asa Island sa West Philippine Sea ang warning na inisyu ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Noong Sabado, inireport ng Philippine Coast Guard sa isla ang presensiya ng People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy vessel, China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel 5203, at 42 hinihinalang Chinese maritime militia (CMM) vessels.

“Ang coast guard station po natin sa Pag-asa ay patuloy pong tsina-challenge ito over the radio na sinasabi na ang 12 nautical miles ng Pag-asa Island ay territorial Sea ng Pilipinas at tayo ay may sovereignty dito,” ayon kay PCG spokesman for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela.

 “Ganon pa rin po ang ginagawa ng China, sila naman po ay hindi nag re-responde sa tawag ng ating coast guard personnel,” dagdag pa nito.

Samantala, sinabi ni Tarriela na ang PLA at iba pang maritime militia vessels ay nanatiling nasa isla.

“Ang coast guard vessels po natin at ang mga coast guard personnel na naka destino po sa bawat isla sa West Philippine Sea ay patuloy po ang pag challenge sa mga Chinese maritime militia, China coast guard vessel na umiikot po,” sabi nito.

Noong 2013, hinamon ng banda ang legal na basehan ng China na umaangkin sa South China Sea sa Permanent Court of Arbitration sa The Hague, Netherlands.

Nanalo ang Pilipinas sa kaso noong 2016 matapos balewalain ang giit ng Beijing. Gayunman, nananatiling matigas ang China at nanindigang pag-aari nila ang naturang isla ng Pilipinas.
