THE Quezon City Police District has released CCTV footage showing the couple accused of masterminding the Mollenido double murder together with their three children at a hotel where they checked in after disposing of the victims’ bodies.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, in a media briefing on Tuesday, described the couple as having “psychopathic criminal tendencies” for allegedly bringing their children along while dumping the bodies of Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Mollenido and her son, John Ysmael, in separate locations in Bulacan and Tarlac.
Police investigation revealed that after the murders at the couple’s residence in Novaliches, Quezon City, the suspects loaded the bodies into an SUV with the help of an accomplice. Remulla stated that they drove away with their children, leading them to believe they were going on a vacation to Baguio City.
“What kind of mind do you have, what kind of heart do you have, that you would involve your children in the disposal?” Remulla questioned during the briefing. The couple and two other cohorts are in police custody after being charged over the killings, which authorities have declared as “case closed.” The children are now under the care of their mother’s “next of kin,” according to Remulla.
