MIAA management will meet with all of the 43 airlines operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to discuss the plan.
THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has raised the alert level for all airport operations across the country in anticipation of Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong, which will be named “Uwan” upon entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this weekend.
CAAP Director General Raul L. Del Rosario has ordered airport managers in potentially affected areas to activate their emergency plans to ensure the safety of passengers, aircraft, and facilities.
The CAAP is maintaining close coordination with airlines, local government units, and disaster response teams.
Cebu Pacific has already cancelled its Bicol flights 5J321 and 5J322 due to the approaching storm. Passengers are advised to rebook their flights or request a refund without incurring any fees.
Travelers are strongly advised to monitor weather advisories and arrive at airports early, as flight schedules are subject to change. All CAAP units are on standby, awaiting further updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
