NOVALICHES Bishop Teodoro Bacani on Wednesday called on House members to win back the trust of Filipinos amid reports of corruption involving politicians in the country.
“You can win (the people’s) trust again,” Bacani said in the homily he delivered during a Wednesday Eucharistic Celebration sponsored by the Office of the Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, and other House members.
According to the prelate, the trust of the people can be won beginning with repentance or a change in one’s mindset. “Let us remember the words of St. Francis, that it is in giving that we receive… that it is in serving that we are honored,” he said.
Bacani also warned against giving in to the temptation of money, which he said affected even the clergy. He added that the Catholic religion is a religion of second chances.
