COMMITTEE on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs Chairperson Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa maintained that the ongoing inquiry into the alleged leaked documents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is part of the Senate’s mandate to address policy gaps in the government.
Presiding over the resumption of the panel hearing, Dela Rosa said the committee’s objective is to find out the truth behind the so-called “PDEA Leaks,” particularly how a confidential document ended up in the hands of private citizens.
“We do not owe the Filipino people a hearing that sidelines as a circus or as a variety show. We owe them instead a process marked by integrity, respect for due process and a commitment to justice,” Dela Rosa said Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Actress Maricel Soriano, one of the personalities named in the supposed leaked PDEA document was present in the hearing.
