In a statement addressing the viral video, Rep. Briones clarified that he was not engaged in e-sabong and did not participate in any online money transfers related to the activity. He explained that he received a message inviting him to a traditional cockfight, an invitation he declined.
Rep. Briones emphasized that he does not participate in online gambling and that the video has been misinterpreted.
He asserted that his presence in the video does not indicate participation in illegal online gambling activities. The representative’s statement aims to clarify any misconceptions arising from the viral video and to distance himself from the controversial practice of online cockfighting.
