ACT-Teachers first nominee Antonio Tinio said that their party-list aims to hold all corrupt officials and politicians accountable, alongside pushing for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Tinio’s statement coincided with their filing of candidacy for a congressional seat in the 2025 elections when they submitted their certificates of candidacy and certificates of nomination and acceptance. “What we are really calling for is accountability for everyone who needs to be held accountable both in the previous Duterte administration and this present one,” Tinio said in an interview.
“That includes the impeachment of VP Duterte, as being responsible for the embezzlement of confidential funds,” he added.
Tinio referred to Duterte’s alleged misuse of funds from her Office of the Vice President and her tenure as Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) before resigning on July 19, 2024.
“ACT-Teachers will definitely be the first to push it, right now if possible, or at least in the next Congress,” Tinio said.
