NGAYONG 4 PM, Pebrero 28, 2022, ang Department of Health ay nakapagtala ng 951 na karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19. Samantala ay mayroon namang naitalang 1,717 na gumaling at 50 na pumanaw.
Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga naitalang kaso sa bansa, 1.4% (52,179) ang aktibong kaso, 97.0% (3,553,367) na ang gumaling, at 1.54% (56,451) ang namatay.
Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat, lahat ng mga laboratoryo ay operational noong February 26, 2022 habang mayroong 5 laboratoryo na hindi nakapagsumite ng datos sa COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Base sa datos sa nakaraang 14 na araw, ang kontribusyon ng 5 labs na ito ay humigit kumulang 3.9% sa lahat ng samples na naitest at 0.7% sa lahat ng positibong mga indibidwal.

Bagkus, dapat natin ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards at lagging magsuot ng facemask, mag physical distancing, at maghugas ng kamay. Sa oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, AGAD NA MAG-ISOLATE at magpatest. Tandaan ang right test at the right time. Agad rin na magpabakuna upang makakuha ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa COVID-19.*

Of the 951 reported cases today, 895 (94%) occurred within the recent 14 days (February 15 – February 28, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (231 or 26%), Region 4-A (136 or 15%) and Region 6 (93 or 10%).
*Of the 50 deaths, 23 occurred in February 2022 (46%), 22 in January 2022 (44%), 1 in October 2021 (2%), 3 in September 2021 (6%), and 1 in June 2021 (2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.*
3 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 1 is a recovery.
Moreover, 36 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
