SEVEN inmates at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro have been granted to be transferred back to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after the court granted their requests.
The seven inmates wanted to recant their testimonies against former senator Leila de Lima, said the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC)
The court ordered the transfer to Bilibid of the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) German Agojo, Tomas Doniña, Jaime Patcho, Wu Tuan Yuan, also known as Peter Co, Engelberto Durano, Jerry Pepino, and Hans Anton Tan.
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. confirmed the order on Wednesday.
“May court order na. We are transferring them as soon as possible,” Catapang said, but he added that three of them did not want to be returned to Bilibid.
De Lima, who is out on bail and facing the last of three drug trading charges, earlier petitioned the court to transfer the inmates, as they expressed fear for their lives.
