INTERIOR Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla III said on Tuesday that there are 38 hot spots being monitored before the 2025 midterm elections.
During the Palace press briefing, Remulla announced that out of the 38 hot spots, 27 are in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Remulla mentioned that authorities are also monitoring the situation in Albuera, Leyte, due to reported casualties in the area.
“We will watch closely what happens there,” Remulla said.
The Philippine National Police previously stated that they will assess the need to deploy additional personnel in certain areas as a preparation for potential election-related violence.
