DALAWANG hosts ng Sonshine Media Network ang kinasuhan ng contempt dahil sa pagsisinungaling at pagtanging sagutin ang mga katanungan ng mahalaga sa inquiry sa Kamara.
Naging magaspang din ang ugali ni SMNI Jeffrey ‘Ka Eric’ Celiz sa ginanap na congressional inquity sa umano’y fake na ikinalat nito sa P1.8 bilyong gastos ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa mga pagbiyahe.
Sa inquiry, tinanong si Celiz sa source nito ngunit paulit-ulit din nitong ibunyag ang kanyang source.
Ang kanyang source umano ang nagbigay ng detalye tungkol sa nakalululang travel expense ni Romualdez.
Iginiit naman ni Celiz ang Sotto Law na napoprotekta sa mga journalists sa pagbubunyag ng kanilang source sa news report o impormasyon lalo pa kung ito ay makaaapekto sa seguridad ng estado.
Gayunman, tinanong ni House Committee on Legislative Franchises Chairperson at Paranaque City 2nd District Rep. Gus Tambunting kung accredited journalist si Celiz dahil ito ay pumapailalim din sa mga imbestigasyon sa Kongreso.
“It will create a very dangerous and negative precedent on protection of source provided by law. I will refuse,” sabi ni Celiz sa panel.
“Ang sabi ng SMNI, hindi nila pananagutan ang gagawin nyo, at hindi na nga raw kayo empleyado sabi nila. So hindi namin agad agad kayang tanggapin ang inyong mungkahi. Pangalawa, I would like to remind you that this is a House inquiry, which is provided for by the Sotto Law,” sabi naman ni Tambunting.
“Mr. Celiz has already violated two provisions of Section 11. The first one, acting in a disrespectful manner. The second one, which is more important, is his refusal to answer the question in a relevant inquiry. On this note, I move to cite in contempt Mr. Celliz on these two grounds under Section 11,” ayon naman kay Surigao del Sur 2nd District Rep. Johnny Pimentel.
“Thank you to this kangaroo court,” sabi ni Celiz bago pa siya palabasin sa hearing. Ganito rin ang nangyari kay dating anti-communist task force spokesperson Lorraine Badoy nang hindi masagot nang maayos ang mga tanong tungkol sa mga advertisers.
“Magkatabi kayo hindi pa kayo magkasundo kung ano ba talaga ang totoo. Sabi mo (Badoy) may tatlong nag-aadvertise, sabi ng katabi mo, wala. Paano namin kayo paniniwalaan?” sabi ni Quezon 2nd District Rep. Jay-jay Suarez.
“Please refrain from lying, kasi nakalagay sa revenue submitted niyo… wala akong nakita noong binabanggit n’yo kanina na mayroon kayong kinita na idineklara nyo rito. In other words, you are lying,” ayon naman kay Santa Rosa City Rep. Dan Fernandez.
“Refusal to answer relevant inquiry, acting in a disrespectful manner because she was found lying. That would be my reason to declare her in contempt,” dagdag ni Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr.
“I am deeply saddened by what I’ve seen today. But I respect the committee, because this is how I was brought up by my father, to be honorable. And to have my fullest trust in the institution. Hindi natitinag ‘yan,” ayon kay Badoy sa Komite.
Kapwa si Badoy at Celiz ay ikukulong sa House of Representatives hanggang mapunta sa House plenary ang committee report sa inquiry.
