17 Chinese deported for illegal online gambling

admin November 16, 2022

THE BI expect the next batch to be implemented soon, as they are in close coordination with the Chinese Embassy for the expeditious release of the deportees’ travel documents.

THE third batch of Chinese arrested for involvement in illegal online gambling was deported on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Bureau of Immigration.

In a statement, Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that 17 individuals boarded a Philippine Airlines flight to Wuhan, China.

Tansingco said Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla is closely monitoring the implementation of the deportation.

He said they also regularly submit reports on the status of the deportees.

“Those deported are automatically included in the BI’s blacklist, effectively barring them from returning to the Philippines,” the BI said.

The first batch composed of six Chinese was deported in October while 21 others were deported in November. More than 300 foreign nationals are set to be deported.
