10,816 aspiring lawyers set to take 2023 Bar Exams

A TOTAL of 10,816 aspiring lawyers are set to take on the 2023 Bar Examinations that will be conducted accross 14 local testing centers nationwide.

Among the examinees, 5,832 will be facing the Bar Examinations for the first time, while 4,984 will be making a second attempt.

To ensure the smooth conduct of these exams, approximately 2,571 Bar personnel will be deployed to the National Headquarters and various Local Testing Centers (LTCs).

This dedicated team includes court officials, judges, personnel from key legal institutions, and both government and private practice lawyers.

The 2023 Bar Examinations are scheduled for September 17, 20, and 24, and will cover six core subjects: Political and Public International Law (15%); Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%); Civil Law (20%); Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%); Criminal Law (10%); and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).

These subjects were meticulously chosen by the Supreme Court En Banc, considering past syllabi and the latest developments in legal practice.

The 14 Local Testing Centers for the 2023 Bar Examinations are spread across the Philippines, including notable institutions like San Beda University, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, Saint Louis University, Cagayan State University, University of San Carlos, and more.

The National Headquarters for this year’s exams will be located at San Beda College Alabang in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando, Chairperson of the 2023 Bar Examinations, stressed the Office of the Bar Chair’s continuous monitoring of Bar applicants’ responses and feedback.

He expressed their commitment to supporting the candidates and fostering confidence and success among them.
