OPERATIONS of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) were temporarily halted on Tuesday, June 25 after a female passenger jumped onto its tracks at Doroteo Jose Station in Manila.
In a statement, the LRT-1 management said the incident occurred at 12:41 p.m.
“A female passenger jumped onto the tracks of LRT-1 while a train was approaching Doroteo Jose Station (southbound),” it said.
A team from the line’s operator, the Light Rail Manila Corporation, responded immediately to assess the passenger status.
“Per initial assessment, the passenger was conscious and sustained minor injuries,” it added.
The passenger was immediately brought to the nearest hospital and turned over to the proper authorities, the rail management said.
LRT-1 operations resumed at 12:59 p.m.
