THREE crew members were reportedly injured in a fire that broke out on a cargo vessel at North Harbor in Tondo, Manila, on Wednesday evening.
According to a report by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), thick smoke was seen emanating from the MV Meridian Dos Tacloban at around 7 p.m. while the vessel was anchored.
The fire reached the second alarm, but firefighters were able to quickly respond and declared a fire out shortly after.
The crew members reportedly attempted to extinguish the fire themselves, resulting in injuries that required immediate medical attention. They were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. The BFP is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
