THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced that three Chinese nationals are facing deportation proceedings after being arrested for overstaying their visas and alleged identity theft.
The individuals, identified as 36-year-old Fang Li, 38-year-old Chen Youliang, and 39-year-old Xu Yuxiang, were apprehended in an enforcement operation on February 16 in a condominium unit in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.
According to the BI, Fang Li was allegedly engaging in illegal activities and using the identity of another Chinese national. She is also considered an “overstaying alien” as she failed to apply for any visa extension or conversion after entering the Philippines as a temporary visitor in 2022. This information was gathered through intelligence reports that prompted the operation.
During the same operation, authorities also arrested Chen Youliang and Xu Yuxiang. Chen was found to be facing a Blacklist Order and had previously been issued an Order to Leave for violating the conditions of his visa. The BI also classified Chen as an “undocumented alien” as he was unable to provide a valid passport or immigration documents at the time of his arrest.
Xu Yuxiang was determined to be an “overstaying alien” as well, with the BI discovering that her visa extension had expired in 2020. All three individuals are now in the custody of the BI and will undergo deportation proceedings.
