Security  personnel, empleyado nagsagawa ng crisis exercise sa MRT-3

HINASA ang kakayahan ng mga empleyado ng MRT-3 na rumisponde sa isang crisis situation ngayong Miyerkoles sa Taft Avenue station, unang araw ng implementasyon ng Holy Week maintenance shutdown ng linya.

Ang crisis situation ay hinango sa aktuwal na insidente sa Tokyo noong Oktubre 2021, kung saan isang pasaherong armado ng patalim ang nanaksak ng iba pang pasahero at nanunog ng bagon.

Sa nasabing crisis simulation exercise, nakita kung paano nakipag-ugnayan ang mga security personnel ng MRT-3 sa medical responders mula sa Lifeline at Philippine Red Cross, gayundin sa Philippine National Police na siyang dumakip sa suspek.

Ang actual simulation exercise ay kasunod ng tabletop security exercises ng MRT-3 noong ika-7 ng Abril 2022 sa depot, sa pangunguna ng Safety Security Unit at pakikipag-ugnayan sa PNP QCPD at Taft, Bureau of Fire and Protection, Office for Transportation Security, at Philippine Coast Guard.

Ayon kay MRT-3 OIC-General Manager at Director for Operations Michael J. Capati, ang gawain ay mahalaga upang masanay ang kahandaan at kakayahan ng mga stations personnel, emergency commander, at medics ng MRT-3 na rumisponde sa krisis.

“Parte po yung pagsasanay ng ating mga empleyado ng mga aktibidad natin ngayong Holy Week maintenance shutdown para maidentify natin ano ‘yung dapat gawin pag may emergency, ano yung dapat pa nating punan,” ani OIC-General Manager Capati.

Nagbigay rin ng assessment points matapos ang simulation exercise ang mga nakibahagi sa simulation exercise na mula sa PNP QCPD at Philippine Red Cross.

“Yung mga nakuha nating assessment inputs ngayon mula sa ating security experts ay isasama natin sa mga gagawin nating adjustments sa business continuity plans ng MRT-3. We are looking forward to holding similar exercises such as this in the future, para masiguro natin na updated at well-equipped ng kaalaman ang ating mga empleyado na rumisponde sa emergencies,” sabi ni OIC-General Manager Capati.
