POLICE operatives arrested a saleslady and her live-in partner in Naic, Cavite on Saturday for the robbery of a gold jewelry store in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Manila Police Department (MPD) identified the lovers as Cheril Candidato. 39, and Jeffrel Logronio.
The two suspects will face charges of qualified theft and are now locked up in jail.
MPD Station 11 however said there were inconsistencies in the statement of Candidato, saleslady of the said store, and CCTV footage.
The police decided to go to Candidato’s residence in Naic and found P8.5 million worth of gold jewelry in the suspects’ possession.
However, the jewelry store owner said some P2 million more worth of gold jewelry are still missing.
The suspects on the other hand said they did not touch the loot yet.
