Re-elected Porac, Pampanga Mayor Jaime Capil
PORAC Mayor Jaime Capil has posted ₱630,000 bail for his graft cases, which are connected to the operation of a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in his town.
According to media reports, Capil voluntarily surrendered to the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) on Tuesday, after the court issued a warrant for his arrest. He posted bail for seven counts of graft.
The Pasig RTC has scheduled Capil’s arraignment for December 11.
Capil faces charges of violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act in connection with the operation of Lucky South 99, a POGO hub located in Porac.
The charges allege that Lucky South 99 was granted a business permit despite failing to meet the necessary documentary requirements. Furthermore, Lucky South 99 allegedly applied as an outsourcing firm instead of a POGO, indicating a violation of its stated purpose.
