Before hitting another victim, the Pasay City police operatives were able to arrest the suspects.
Initially, they were asked for their identification card but both suspects failed to show any document.
The police also noticed something suspicious around their waist, so the PNP personnel asked them to lift their shirts.
At first, the suspects were uncooperative but eventually, they gave in.
The police recovered from the two pairs of handcuffs, one chrome-plated caliber .22 revolver loaded with five live ammunition, and one black replica pistol.
Arrested suspects will be charged for Republic Act 10591 in relation to Comelec
Omnibus Election Code and Usurpation of Authority.
“Yes, they will be charged with multiple cases since we are still implementing the gun ban. I also congratulate our police personnel for acting promptly on the report for robbery extortion. We don’t want them to be using the name of the PNP for their criminal acts. We have been doing our best to discipline our PNP personnel so our integrity won’t be tarnished. If there is fake news, there are also fake police. I hope the public will be more critical about this kind of scheme so they won’t fall prey to this trap,” PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos said.
