PNP, partner agencies capture high-ranking lady communist member in Taguig

admin September 20, 2023

IN a significant achievement for internal security, the Philippine National Police (PNP) collaborated with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) to successfully apprehend a high-ranking member of the Communist Terrorist Group in Central Signal Village, Taguig City on September 18, 2023.

The captured individual, known by the aliases Yvonne, Sam, and Ayang, had been a long-standing fugitive and was one of the national most wanted persons in the country, listed under the Joint Department of National Defense (DND) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum of Wanted Persons.

A monetary reward of P280,000.00 was offered for her capture.

Alias Yvonne/Sam/Ayang held a prominent position within the Sub-Regional Military Area 4D (SRMA 4D), also known as Islacom Mindoro/Lucio De Guzman Command of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC).

She had occupied various influential roles within the CTG organization operating in Mindoro Island.

The high-ranking CTG member faced multiple serious charges, including murder with multiple attempted murders, four counts of murder, multiple frustrated murders, frustrated murder, attempted murder, and theft. Her capture is expected to deal a significant blow to the CTG’s operations and disrupt their activities in the region.

PNP Chief, PGen Benjamin Acorda Jr., commended the collaborative efforts of the PNP, AFP, and NICA, emphasizing the dedication and commitment of the law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security in the Philippines.

In a statement, PGen Acorda Jr. said, “The successful capture of this high-ranking CTG member is a testament to the unwavering determination and relentless pursuit of our law enforcement agencies to bring justice to the victims of CTG-related crimes. We will continue to work tirelessly to apprehend individuals who threaten the safety and security of our nation. This operation sends a clear message to all criminal elements that the Philippine National Police remains resolute in upholding the rule of law.”

The arrest of Alias Yvonne/Sam/Ayang serves as a reminder of the Philippine government’s commitment to eradicating threats to national security and ensuring the safety of its citizens. It represents a significant step forward in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency in the country.
