THE Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has rescued 34 Indonesian nationals who were allegedly imprisoned and forced to work at an illegal Philippine offshore gaming operation (POGO) in Pasay City.
Two Chinese nationals, including a former member of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), were arrested in connection with the operation.
The suspects are believed to have confiscated the passports of the victims to prevent them from leaving the country. The Indonesians were reportedly slated to be transferred to Cambodia to work as scammers.
The PAOCC is coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy and Interpol for the voluntary repatriation of the victims.
