THE Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) on Monday said the SUV driver involved in the hit and run of a guard in Mandaluyong has been identified and a cause order was already issued.
In a radio interview, LTO-NCR Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto said they are set to schedule the hearing on June 7, Tuesday.
“We scheduled the hearing this week and hopefully the driver and the owner would appear in the hearing. We are, of course, observing due process, ‘yung notice of hearing,” said Guinto.
Victim Christian Joseph Floralde is recovering in hospital in Mandaluyong after he was hit and run over by a SUV while directing traffic.
Mandaluyong Police earlier said that a White Toyota RAV 4 with plate number NCO 3781 was involved in the incident, subject to LTO’s validation.
Guinto, however, did not name the suspect, citing the Data Privacy law, but said that he or she was a Filipino.
The LTO had also yet to determine whether the driver was also the owner of the vehicle.
Guinto thanked netizens who uploaded the video of the incident.
He also explained that the highest penalty that the LTO may render against the suspect was the revocation of the driver’s license.
“May isang high resolution video cam na na-identify ‘yung plate number so we were able to get the details in our system ng kung sino ang may-ari ng motor vehicle na ‘yun,” he said.
