THE number of light rail vehicles (LRVs) or new MRT-3 that have been overhauled and successfully deployed to the mainline has now climbed to 59 after adding one on July 18, 2022.
In total, only 13 of MRT-3’s 72 trucks are scheduled to undergo overhauling.
All new MRT-3 trains undergo a series of quality and speed tests before running to ensure safe rides of passengers.
Running trains also undergo regular cleaning and disinfection at both ends of North Ave. and Taft Ave. stations.
Meanwhile, the enforcement of health and protocols on MRT-3, including a ban on eating, drinking, talking, and answering telephone inside trains, continues.
Wearing of facemask is strictly enforced at all times while wearing of faceshield is voluntary.
