Over 37K cops deployed for safe school opening

admin June 16, 2025

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy over 37,700 police personnel nationwide to ensure the safety and security of students as classes resume on Monday, June 16th.

This significant deployment is part of Oplan Balik-Eskwela 2025-2026, a comprehensive security plan covering 45,974 schools – 38,292 public and 7,682 private institutions. The initiative aims to provide a secure environment for students as they return to their studies.

To maximize its impact, the PNP’s strategy includes establishing 5,079 police assistance desks near schools, manned by 10,759 officers.

In addition, 10,687 personnel will conduct mobile patrols, and 16,366 will be deployed for foot patrols, ensuring a visible and responsive police presence throughout school zones.

The deployment numbers vary across regions, with Central Visayas deploying the most personnel (7,366), followed by Metro Manila (4,323), Bicol Region (2,962), and Eastern Visayas (2,376).

In Mindanao, the PNP’s Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PROBAR) will deploy 2,898 personnel to safeguard 657 schools.

This large-scale operation underscores the PNP’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students nationwide. The comprehensive security plan combines static and mobile deployments, ensuring a robust response to potential security concerns.
