METRO Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will offer free rides to female passengers on Saturday, March 8, in observance of International Women’s Day. The free rides will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
MRT-3 General Manager Engr. Oscar Bongon stated that the initiative is a gesture of appreciation for women’s contributions to society. “The free ride is a simple way for MRT-3 to show support for every Juana and honor their sacrifices for their families,” Bongon said, adding, “May this bring at least a little comfort to them on their special day.”
In addition to the free rides, MRT-3 will distribute special Women’s Month tokens to female passengers on Friday, March 7. Meanwhile, Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free haircuts to all female passengers on Women’s Day.
