THE Manila Police District (MPD) has assured a peaceful and orderly conduct of the May 12 national and local elections in Manila.
During a Meet The Press Weekly forum on Friday, May 2, MPD spokesperson and PIO Chief Major Philipp Ines announced the deployment of approximately 3,000 police officers throughout the city.
Major Ines emphasized that the MPD’s area of concern extends beyond polling precincts to encompass all areas within Manila. Various strategies are being implemented to ensure the safety and security of Manila residents. MPD Office of the District Director Administrator PCOL Roderico Roy Jr. reminded the public of the MPD’s available hotline numbers and Facebook page for reporting election-related illegal activities.
A comprehensive security plan is in place, with ongoing assessments and conferences to maintain peace throughout the election period. Major Ines also mentioned a multi-agency coordinating center monitoring the entire city and receiving all election-related reports.
