Man in QC road rage incident surrenders, police to revoke gun license

admin August 27, 2023

THE man who went viral on social media for hitting a cyclist and brandishing a gun during a heated altercation at an intersection near the Welcome Rotunda on August 8 has surrendered.

Quezon City Police District Director P/Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III on Sunday said the man has aired his side and said that he and the cyclist have come into terms and already made amends.

A concerned citizen recorded the incident on video and uploaded it on social media, earning hundreds of views and comments, including from Torre.

Earlier, Torre urged the suspect to surrender to the nearest QCPD Station and not wait for them to catch on him.

The suspect appeared to be a government employee as he was wearing a blue polo shirt with a lapel pin. His red Kia car has a ULQ-802 license plate which the Land Transportation Office is now tracking to determine its owner.

Meanwhile,  lawyer Raymond Fortun, representative of Pinoy Road Bikers, said he received a feedback that apparently after the video was shot, the cyclist was sent to police station and ordered to pay P500.

“Tinitiyak din na mare-revoke and license to own and possess firearm (LTOPF) ng suspect,” said Torre.
