THE driver of a sports utility vehicle who stopped his vehicle in the middle of C-5 Road in Taguig to confront a truck driver had his license and registration suspended, according to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The LTO also issued a show cause order against the SUV driver asking him to explain why he should not be penalized for violating at least three traffic rules.
The incident in Taguig was caught on video, and it showed the SUV driver berating the truck driver for allegedly almost hitting the SUV, endangering its passengers.
The SUV driver also asked for the truck driver’s license and asked if he was taking drugs because his eyes were red. Meanwhile the truck driver was taking a video of the SUV driver.
The video was uploaded online and went viral on social media.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the registration of the white Ford Explorer and the driver’s license of its driver were preventively suspended for 90 days while the November 24 incident is being investigated.
“Personal kong nakita ang video at nakita natin ang mga violations na nagawa ng SUV driver. Kaya agad kong inatasan ang LTO-NCR na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon tungkol dito,” Mendoza said in a statement.
