admin March 27, 2025

A TRAGIC incident unfolded at Moonwalk National High School in Parañaque City on Wednesday, March 26, leaving a Grade 8 student dead after being stabbed by a classmate.

The confirmation came from P/Capt Melvin Garcia, head of the Parañaque PNP’s Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and Investigation and Detection Management Section (SIDMS).

Details surrounding the attack remain scarce, pending a full investigation by authorities. The school community is understandably in shock and mourning the loss of the young student.

The Parañaque City Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the stabbing.

They are working to gather statements from witnesses, review security footage (if available), and collect any other relevant evidence. The suspect, also a student at the school, is reportedly in custody. The motive behind the attack is yet to be established, but police are exploring various possibilities, including possible bullying or personal conflicts between the two students.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Moonwalk National High School community and the wider Parañaque City area. Grief counselors and support services have been deployed to the school to provide assistance to students and staff grappling with the aftermath of the tragedy.

Many students and teachers are struggling to process the violence that occurred within the supposed safe confines of their school. The incident highlights the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and conflict resolution programs in schools to prevent future tragedies.

This heartbreaking event underscores the critical importance of addressing violence in schools and providing adequate support for students and staff.

The Parañaque City Police and the Department of Education are likely to review school safety protocols and potentially implement stricter measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students in the future. The community awaits further updates from the ongoing investigation and mourns the loss of the young life cut short by this senseless act of violence.
