IMMIGRATION officers assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) arrested a Chinese national yesterday after presenting a fake entry visa.
The Chinese national, identified as Lin Jingxiong, 30, arrived on board a Cebu Pacific flight from Singapore, when he was stopped by Bureau of Immigration (BI) personnel after being found to be blacklisted from the country.
During primary inspection, Lin also presented a Philippine visa that aroused the suspicion of officers.
Verification with the BI’s Forensic Documents Laboratory confirmed that the document was indeed counterfeit.
“Our immigration personnel are highly trained in detecting fraud,” said BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco. “We are also equipped with the latest technologies for forensic document analysis,” he shared.
Records show that Lin was blacklisted since February this year for overstaying in the country.
He was immediately arrested and will remain in the BI’s Warden Facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending deportation.
