AUTHORITIES intercepted several parcels containing snack boxes that concealed approximately 120 kilograms of shabu, valued at P816 million, in a Pasig City warehouse. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced the seizure on Monday, June 8th.
The parcels originated from various locations in California, USA, and were destined for different consignees in Taguig, Pasig, and Makati. The PDEA noted that the parcels were undeclared upon arrival in the country.
“While no suspects have been apprehended at this stage, the interdiction has laid the groundwork for an ongoing and broader investigation,” the PDEA stated. Evidence has been submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for confirmatory analysis.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez emphasized the importance of collaboration between PDEA and other law enforcement agencies.
“This interdiction success is a product of strong collaboration between PDEA and our law enforcement partners. Our presence in major airports, seaports, and cargo facilities is not just necessary—it is imperative,” Nerez said.
The PDEA urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious packages or drug-related activities.
