AT least eight people died after a fire gutted a residential area in Brgy. UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City early Monday morning.
According to a report from GMA News, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the casualties were one elderly and a minor while the six others were found in one of the rooms gutted by the fire.
The BFP said the fire was raised to first alarm at around 5:20 a.m. and reached second alarm at 5:38 a.m.
The blaze was declared under control at around 6:35 a.m. and was extinguished at around 7:00 a.m.
Arson probers are determining the origin of the fire and the estimated damage to property.
