JOINT members of the PNP Aviation Security Group and Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group intercepted five abandoned inbound parcels containing suspected marijuana kush and cannabis oil.
The items were discovered upon X-ray screening by the Bureau of Customs which prompted the elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to perform K-9 paneling and manual Inspection which yielded positive for Illegal Drugs.
Moreover, the items had undertaken inventory and marking procedures and were witnessed by the members of the media and a Barangay Official from Pasay City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the parcels were believed to have come from Canada and United States and were left unclaimed by the consignees.
The seized pieces of evidence and illegal drugs were brought to PDEA Laboratory Service in Quezon City to undergo qualitative and quantitative examination and proper disposition, and further investigation is still being conducted by NAIA-IADITG on the whereabouts of the consigness of the parcels.
